When I met with the rn who did my cadi evaluation yesterday, I asked her if I should be contacting anyone in New York about insurance while I’m looking for housing and she said,”no, because you have to be a resident of the state for a certain period of time before they’ll give you insurance.” Then I said,”yeah.. I remember reading somewhere online that you need to be a resident for.. I think it was.. 6 months? But I was wondering if I needed to let anyone know that I was moving to a different state.” Then she just said,”no, I don’t think so. Not until you find a place.” I don’t think she thinks that I’m really gonna move there. She didn’t know me
OR my case. That was the first time that I remember ever meeting her (yesterday). She may just be looking out for me (so that I always have insurance but I’m a fairly healthy person, I think I can go without insurance for a short period of time.. I don’t remember when the last time I had to see the doctor because I was sick.) I’m pretty sure that I’ve been paying outta pocket for therapy while living here in Minnesota. So if Erin has any objections financially, i’ll just tell her to look back on her records and it shouldn’t be much of a difference other than location wise.
